Our Schools and Units

The Mandate

NNCETT is envisioned as a technology driven institution with the aim of enhancing the professional knowledge and skills of NN personnel in instructional techniques and proficiency in selected foreign languages. NNCETT is made up of 4 Schools and 3 Units. The schools are the Instructional Techniques School, Language School, Academic School and Computer School. The units include the Archives and Records Management Unit, Research and Development Unit as well as Workshop and Conference Unit.

Training

Training in the Nigerian Navy is the backbone of the Service. NNCETT is the training post for the much needed skills in communication of a littoral state Navy such as the Nigerian Navy.

Technology

In todays military, technology is key, both in personnel management and equipment usage. NNCETT was established to explore technological options and solutions to bring Nigerian Navy personnel to a place of great knowledge in technology and enable its usage for the attainment of set goals.

Service

Delivery quality and optimal performance of assigned duties is critical to the achievement of the mandate of the Nigerian Navy and that of NNCETT. Quality training and instructional service delivery is primary.

About NNCETT

The Nigerian Navy Centre of Education and Training Technology (NNCETT) is a technology driven support Centre aimed at improving naval professionalism through training and human resource development. NNCETT commenced operation in February 2003 and was initially located at the ninth floor of former Defence House 1-3 Moloney Street Marina, Lagos before its relocation to Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) QUORRA, Harbour Road, Apapa in 2005. Thereafter, the Centre was officially established as one of the training units of the Nigerian Navy (NN) vide Nigerian Navy Order 6 of 2011 dated 17 October 2011 as a composite training support institution that offers courses that would enhance the efficiency of NN personnel. Afterwards, the Centre was relocated from Apapa, Lagos State to Kosere Community in Ile-Ife Osun State on 15 February 2022.
